COMMSOFT LAUNCHES NEW INTERFACE ENGINE
Automates provisioning, trouble testing and auditing of service orders
ALBANY, NY - CommSoft, a leading provider of billing software
to midsize communications companies, announced today the general availability
of the CommSoft Interface Engine (CIE). CIE reduces the need for paper
orders and human intervention by automating many of the tasks normally
performed by communication service providers processing their customer
orders.
Using script-driven processes, CIE allows service order and billing systems
to interface with external systems such as switches, voicemail, E911,
LIDB, cable head-ends, Internet databases, etc. Scripts perform data collection,
validation, translation and update functions. These processes automate
the numerous, manual steps involved in many order processing, trouble
testing, and record auditing functions. Automating these functions results
in quicker, more efficient customer service, as well as eliminating manual
data entry errors and line checking.

The CIE user interface is implemented using Windows-style forms and menus
to minimize the user's learning curve. Communication between the script
processor and network elements uses TCP/IP sockets. Status windows monitor
each process, and status reports are available to communicate successful
transactions.
The CIE can be used in conjunction with CommVergenceÔ, CommSoft’s
flagship customer care and billing application, or with similar products
produced by other software providers.
