COMMSOFT ACQUIRES THE CONNEXN (TC) SERVICE ACTIVATION BUSINESS
FROM RLEC HOLDINGS

Activation Technology Advances CommSoft’s Market Share and Quadruple Play Capabilities

ALBANY- CommSoft, a leading provider of activation, billing & OSS software to communications companies, announced today that it has acquired the former Connexn Technologies’ service activation and automation platform. CommSoft acquired The Connexn (TC) business, which is based in Denver, CO, from RLEC Holdings, Inc. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Azure Solutions Inc., a leading revenue assurance company, acquired all other assets of Connexn Technologies, including their CERTO Revenue Assurance platform, in November of 2004.

The acquisition expands CommSoft’s capabilities in event activation across its voice, video, data and wireless offerings. The Connexn (TC) technology allows CommSoft to assist communication providers in improving their operating margins by automating mission critical business processes. The acquisition is part of CommSoft’s strategy to increase market share, serve the increasingly complex activation and billing needs of cable, mobile and wireline providers, and to further extend its single-source solution approach.

“The Connexn (TC) platform has proven itself as superior technology in serving the needs of service providers of all sizes,” said Larry Davis’ CommSoft’s president and CEO. “The customers we spoke to were extremely positive about the functionality and productivity gains made using this technology and we are very pleased to acquire this platform.”

The acquisition significantly expands CommSoft's market share across Tier I, II and III segments. CommSoft’s customer list now includes industry leaders such as Citizens Communications, NTELOS, Fairpoint Communications, CT Communications, Cavalier Telephone, Madison River Communications, and many others.

“We are extremely pleased about CommSoft’s acquisition of The Connexn (TC),” said Duane Breeden, vice president of information technology at NTELOS. “The platform is a vital interfacing component within our portfolio of systems and we have realized significant operational benefits and cost savings as a result of this product. We look forward to receiving continued benefits through our new relationship with CommSoft.”

The Connexn (TC) application platform automates the Service Provider’s business processes for processing service orders and conducting service and feature audits. TC easily interfaces to legacy and new systems and network elements for wireline and wireless voice and data, cable, video, digital TV, and VoIP providers.

  • Uses script-driven processes to perform automated provisioning, trouble testing, service and feature auditing functions which reduces errors, captures lost revenue and reduces overhead costs

  • Provision a wide range of network elements including: TDMA and Soft switches, Remote Test Units, programmable servers, 3rd party databases, voicemail systems, routers, and DSL systems, allowing customer service reps to provide customers with instant activation capability for improved service

  • Interfaces to many OSS systems including: Billing, Inventory, Network Management, DSL, Satellite TV and Set Top Boxes, and VoIP for provisioning and auditing of services.
