GUADALUPE VALLEY COMPLETES IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMSOFT’S ENHANCED CABLE SOLUTION

ALBANY, NY - CommSoft, a leading provider of billing software to midsize communications companies, announced today that Guadalupe Valley Telecommunications Cooperative (GVTC) is live on their enhanced cable billing and provisioning solution. The solution enables convergent billing and OSS for voice, video and data in addition to product bundling and discounting capabilities.

This project has allowed GVTC to consolidate its entire billing and OSS operations for local, long distance, cable and security on a single platform. This ‘triple play, single bill’ initiative is the result of a joint development effort with GVTC which began as an effort by both companies to proactively address competitive objectives in the cable sector. Facing competition from a cable conglomerate over-building in their territory, GVTC management acted swiftly to consolidate operations and meet the threat head-on.

Using CommSoft’s Interface Engine in conjunction with CommSoft’s triple play billing solution, GVTC now also has the ability to provision its cable services and to conduct record audits to eliminate billing discrepancies. The service activation, trouble checking, and record auditing across product lines will ensure accuracy and revenue assurance from the order to the bill.

“The One Bill Project will not only help us serve our customers better, but do so more efficiently,” said Ritchie Sorrells, President and CEO of Guadalupe Valley Telecommunications Cooperative. “Providing top-quality products and services is our heritage and now as a result of this project GVTC customers enjoy receiving “One Bill” for all their telecommunication needs. The flexibility of this new system allows us to even the playing field in the competitive environment.” “Guadalupe Valley’s initiative is one of the factors in becoming one of the fastest growing cooperatives in the nation, said Larry Davis, CommSoft’s CEO and chief technical strategist. “We are happy to have provided a platform for their growth over the past 18 years.”
